The Elbow Valley trail was planned as a long-distance trail between Station Flats and Little Elbow Recreation Area. Now it's been whittled down to end at Powderface Creek. You can, of course, string together Beaver Lodge interpretive trail, Beaver Flat to Cobble Flats (#313), Wildhorse trail (#315) and Big Elbow trail (#317) to reach that destination. However, there's hardly a procession of people doing the east to west trip. Just about everyone uses portions of trail to make loops. The most popular by far is the Elbow Valley/Sulphur Springs loop followed by Elbow Valley/River View loop, both usually accessed from access 3.
