Elbow Loop Professional Review and Guide
"Elbow Loop is an outstanding mountain bike trip along former four-wheel-drive roads through spectacular high mountain country. Now closed to motor vehicles, the roads have reverted to trail status and the whole area is now part of the Elbow-Sheep Wildland Provincial Park."
--Doug Eastcott, Backcountry Biking in the Canadian Rockies (Rocky Mountain Books).
Awsome trip we do regularly in July. Mid July the glacier lillies are everywhere. Best done clockwise...one has the flat stretch to warm up on and a killer 18 km downhill to finish. There is a great little lunch hike in to Tombstone lakes from the pass (4 km return). Camp at Beaver flats and check out the walk-ins, some of the best anywhere.
