Although the trail begins with a tedious trudge up a fire road, the valley back of Castle Mountain is filled with delights: the bright-green waters of Tower Lake, the deep-blue colours of Rockbound Lake, the mighty cliffs, and the vast amphitheatre between Castle Mountain and Helena Ridge. You can circle Rockbound Lake, a rough route with a little scrambling. Mountain sheep frequent the slopes near Rockbound Lake.
