An easy day hike with a moderate climb just before the turn around point. Hike location starts from the Chateau at Lake Louise in Banff National Park. Six active glaciers are observable from a safe distance. The trail to the Plain-of-Six-Glaciers is one of the more heavily used routes within Banff National Park. However, trails become popular with good reason, and this particular hike offers several rewards. The trail wraps around the northern shore of Lake Louise and is paved until it leaves the water’s edge for the gradual ascent toward the Plain-of-Six-Glaciers.

One of the coolest, most unique, hikes in the Canadian Rockies is the 8-mile roundtrip trek in Banff National Park from majestic Lake Louise up to the Plain of Six Glaciers. Jeff and did this hike on the sixth day of our honeymoon. (Date hiked: August 14, 2009.)
