This is a short ride to a lookout perched atop a high foothill. Mockingbird overlooks the spectacular cliff-edge formed by the front ranges to the west as well as providing a view over a sea of foothills. Ride this trail early in the day to get the hills silhouetted against the morning haze. The ride up the access road passes a gate shortly after the trailhead and another shortly before the lookout. The uphill ride is a bit of a grind, but it never gets excessively steep.
