Although you can drive to the Hoodoos, there are bonus rewards if you take this trail: views of large Douglas firs, of the Fairholme Range, and of Mt. Rundle. Except for a few short sections, the trail is free of snow in late April. The grade varies from gentle to moderate. You might see and hear rock climbers on nearby cliffs of Mt. Rundle and Tunnel Mountain. There is no water on the way. At the Bow Falls parking lot on Tunnel Mountain Drive, take the stairs leading down to the path. A branch to the right leads to a view of the falls; go left. Descend to the river valley, where after a short distance, the trail divides. We recommend the path to the right, which has better views. Shortly ahead, the alternative routes rejoin.
