Buy this, not the universal mounts
Read reviews on both these 23H (horizontal) & universal mounts. Too many people complained about U-mounts being unstable. Went w/ 23H for my factory-mtd Highlander (2003) cross bars. Fit perfectly & feel stable. Need to correct previous comments made by others (if I may). Chiquita - the BARS are flexible so don't blame the 23H! I have same issue. SBBill - said he had to remove same factory cross bars I have. I did not even though 1.25" clearance between bar btm and roof top. Lastly, you do not need the locks (at hefty price); I use a cable lock and lock kayak to the roof rack. For someone to steal the cradles when I am on water will take patience & an Allen wrench.

2011 Toyota 4Runner
23H perfect fit for Toyota 4Runner and Highlander with factory cross bars. Low roof clearance requires removal of cross bars, install mighty mounts, then re-install cross bars with mighty mounts attached. Yakima Mako roof rack requires total of 8 mighty mounts (2 sets).

This product does the job!
I bought these for my Subaru Outback and find they work perfectly. Great product!

These work but seem flimsy
I use these to put my kayak holders on top of the car. They certainly do the job, but the U-Bars always seem wobbly to me. I guess I am just used to having the Yakima bars - not my factory-installed roof rack.
