No way to fit 5 bikes
This rack simply won't fit 5 bikes. I understand now that fitting kids' bikes (I have two 16" and one 20") is difficult even with the three top tube extenders I had to buy after the fact (adding $80 to the tab). Even with those, I had to take off most of the pedals to make just FOUR bikes fit. Sadly, mommy's bike would not make the trip with us and mommy would not ride bikes with the family. Again: There is simply no way this rack could fit our five bikes. I don't think it could fit anyone's stable of five bikes without removing most of the pedals and probably a few sets of handlebars. By the time you do that (and reassemble it all) you're into 30+

Nice Rack!!
This rack works well .... it is a challenge to get 4 or 5 bikes on if they are of varying sizes. With two kids bikes you really have to stack carefully. Once the bikes are on it is amazing to go anywhere with. Very sturdy connection to hitch! Keep Playing!!

Not a 5-bike rack
On a positive note, the rack is solid, high-quality, and extremely stable. There was no rattling at all in the hitch. The tilt-away feature is very easy to use. However, I had hoped to use this rack to hold 2 adult bikes, two 20-inch youth mountain bikes, and one 16-inch child bike.
