Transcript for: How to Dyno in Rock Climbing

"Hi I'm Bill with Zoar Outdoor on behalf of expertvillage.com we are here today at a Chapel Ledges at Ashfield, Massachusetts and in this series I'm going to be talking about the basics of moving on rock. The hole is going to be really out of reach and the best way to get there is going to be what is called a dynamic move. Sometimes short dyno just flying through the air. So in order to do that well and in control you want to think about still some basic things and really extending them to the limits. By using the over hang technique that we have talked about with your arm straight, keeping your hips close to the wall. You are getting started with your weight mostly on your feet. So from here to get way up there I want to use my legs for power and my arms to direct where I'm going and some power. So I'm wind up to go here I don't want to spend a lot of time pumping my arms you see people do that, avoid that I want to think about driving with my legs to go up and pulling with my arms to stay in. So from here to get up fly like that so starting out with your hips close to the wall, in a normal over hang climbing position, pushing hard with your legs, and using your arms to direct where you are going will send you flying in the direction you want to go. Confidence grab that hold and hold on to it."
