"Hi! My name is Brandon. I'm with expertvillage.com, and today I"m going to show you how to rock climb. One specific climbing technique that will improve your footwork is learning the step through. The step through is actually the first move that I did when I started this route. To do a step through, I started with my left foot on the hole. After moving my hand, I then walked my right foot over directly underneath my hands. By doing this, I'm keeping my center of gravity underneath my feet, and makes it a lot easier. I'm more climbing with my legs rather than with my arms. Now I'll demonstrate this step through on this route. I use my left foot on the start foot. After I remove my left hand out, I then walk my right foot over to the start hold. Move my left foot over again, I matched hands, moved out left, and my next move will be to keep my gravity right here. By walking over, I'm keeping myself in line on 3 points with my body."
