Transcript for: Bouldering Techniques for Indoor Rock Climbing

"Hey guys! This is Danny Logan and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm here to talk about indoor rock climbing. Okay, in this scene, basically I'm going to be explaining types of technique and basic essentials for bouldering. So, I pick a route. I'm going to pick a nice easy one, this V0. Start with both hands and feet on the wall. Now, as I'm climbing, what you really want to focus on is your legs. You use your hands to kind of keep you balanced on the wall, but you don't climb with your hands like pull ups. You don't do that. You want to climb with your skeleton and put your legs up. So as I reach for a hold, I'm going to keep my hands out, open, my elbow locked so then I bring up my feet and I just twist around. I'm using my hips and I'm twisting my toes to climb up to the next hold. So everything is done nice and easy, and I'm really not getting tired because I'm using my skeleton and my bones to climb my legs. That's what you'll see here as I'm bouldering."
