"In this segment we are going to go over how you properly warm up before we really start climbing to prevent injuries. First thing you would want to do is get the body warm and you do that by some light traversing on the wall. Also, climb a couple of easy routes that you really feel comfortable on, just to get the body warm. And once you do that you want to do some climbing specific stretches for the fingers and forearms because that is really the muscles that will be getting used while you are climbing. So, what I do is this. I go finger by finger, push each finger back and really feel that stretch, maybe even cracking if you're old like me. Once I do that and the fingers feel good I do a full forearm stretch where I take all four fingers and pull back as far as you can. And what I am feeling here is the stretch underneath my forearm. And lastly, I'll do a stretch basically to loosen up my elbows. What I do is I put my palm up, I interlace my fingers and I twist towards my body and what I am feeling it is in here, warming up the elbows."
