Trico Sports Painkiller Saddle Pad - X-Large

I love my Cruzbike Sofrider recumbent but I have always had a problem with creeping numbness after about 5 miles of riding. I think that I have finally hit upon a good solution. It's the Trico Painkiller Seat Pad. The size is Extra Large and the cost is [$] It goes over the existing seat. I found that you need both seats to maximize the cushioning. You need to remove the original cushion and the two bolts that join the seat pan to the back rest. With the seat cover drawstring at the loose position you can place the back of the cover of the seat pad between the joint (seat pan to back rest) and using an awl or 1/4 inch drill open up a hole to slip the bolts back through. You may need an awl to lever the two pieces into alignment. Once you have the two bolts tightened you can place the seat which comes with the bike between the hard bottom plastic sheet and the cushion of the Trico seat pad. You may want to use velcro to keep things from slipping around. I find that this combination works well. You can pull the drawstring around the bottom of the seat pan and pull tight. This aligns and keeps everything in place. It looks pretty good too.
