Reviews of Camping in the Florida Keys
Key West offers guests a few campsite options, whether you prefer a tent or a Recreational Vehicle (RV). One of your camping options is Boyd's Key West Campground, which has 80 campsites. The campground is on the waterfront and has facilities to accommodate campers, RVs and tents. The campground also offers organized family activities as well as options for guided tours booked through the campground.

Wows and Woes

The campground facilities are located within walking distance of Duval Street, where there are great bars, restaurants and shopping.

The facilities at the campground are well maintained, but they are small and difficult to use when the campground is busy. If the campground is very busy during your stay, try to plan any use of the common facilities.

Insider Tips

The campground makes a small peninsula on Key West with the tent area being at the tip of the peninsula. Take advantage of the view, and reserve one of these spaces for your camping trip. The sites have the best view, but you'll have to walk a short distance to the common facilities.

Take a padded sleeping bag or an air mattress, because the bare ground is hard and difficult to sleep on.

Bottom Line

Camping in Key West offers you an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while giving you resort-style amenities, including a pool and Wi-Fi service.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

The best part of my camping experience in Key West was getting to enjoy the outdoors so thoroughly. My friends and I spent all day outside exploring the island and then returned to our campsite to enjoy a beautiful view while relaxing and cooking outside. We actually spent a lot of time at the campground, especially at night because it was so peaceful and serene. Camping provided for a relaxing trip to Key West.
