A Review of Homewood Mountain Ski Resort in California

A Review of Homewood Mountain Ski Resort in California
The Homewood Mountain Ski Resort is located at the shoreline of Lake Tahoe, and offers skiing and snowboarding for families, individuals and groups. They are famous for their peak-to-shore snow runs, and offer a wide array of dining and activity options on and off the mountain. You can choose to stay at North, South or West Lake Tahoe in suites or condos, all with ideal views of the lake.

Wows and Woes

There are affordable ski and snowboarding schools for men, women and children. Their lift tickets and season passes, however, are very pricey, because of the central location in Lake Tahoe. There are also several dining options and rental shops, with a daily event calendar offered to guests.

Insider Tips

As of 2009, the resort is creating a sustainability plan, so there may be some construction underway over the next couple of years. Make sure to check the website for reports. The website also offers seasonal specials as well as deals throughout the year.

Bottom Line

A great central location that's worth the splurge if you can afford it, but make sure to check the website to avoid construction times and to get a special rate.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

It was great snowboarding all day with pristine views of Lake Tahoe, then going to one of the mountainside cafes and sipping coffee while hearing the friendly staff talk about the daily activities the resort offers for guests.
