Grand Canyon Hotel Reviews

Grand Canyon Hotel Reviews
The historic Grand Canyon Hotel originally opened in 1891. It closed down for a period in the 1970s and was recently reopened in 2005. The charming hotel has rooms that are suited for people on a budget to people who can afford a private cottage that includes its own washer and dryer. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi for people who have to keep up with business.

Wows and Woes

Wow:
The homegrown casualness and the friendly service makes this place a great home away from home.

Woe:
This is not a full-service hotel, so the amenities are limited, including no room service for those last-second munchies after a long hike.

Insider Tips

The Cottage is a large 800-plus-square-foot house that can easily sleep four and is located right across from a national forest for a good morning hike.

Bottom Line

The Grand Canyon Hotel has rates as low as $25 for a dorm bed to $150 for a cottage and is worth checking out.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

The hotel is located right across from Kaibab National Forest. We borrowed some fishing poles from the hotel and went down to go fishing. It was a blast even though I was the worst fisherman, catching just two fish. We actually brought it back to the hotel and grilled it on the barbecue. Best fish I ever had.
