Grand Canyon Railway Reviews

Grand Canyon Railway Reviews
Since 1901, the Grand Canyon Railway has been bringing passengers to the South Rim of the national park on a 90-mile ride from Williams, Arizona, providing amazing views along the way. With live entertainment, a refreshment cart, different rail cars and knowledgeable tour guides, there is a lot of history on this railroad. It is ideal for families with children or large groups.

Wows and Woes

It is easy to book a reservation because the train runs every day except Christmas Eve and Day. The train tour guides are very friendly and informative.
The only dining options are two casual buffet-style restaurants, Spenser's Pub and the Grand Depot Cafe, with no options for fancier dining.

Insider Tips

If you have AAA, make sure to check out its discounts. Booking a package hotel deal with the railway will help you save money, especially with a large group. You travel free on your birthday, and musicians come in and out of the cars to play music.

Bottom Line

Choose this relaxing, informative tour, especially if you have a large group. Booking a train and hotel package with the railway provides the best deal.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

Drinking a glass of wine and eating a sandwich while gazing out over the Grand Canyon and listening to a music performer in the rail car was quite enjoyable. Everyone on staff was nice and attentive, ready to answer any questions about the Grand Canyon or the railway.
