Taos Ski Valley Lodging Reviews

Taos Ski Valley Lodging Reviews
The Taos Ski Valley is a natural wonder in New Mexico and great for skiing. The lodges offer everything from affordable, dorm-style bunks to a romantic, cabin escape. People on a budget can spend as little as $20 per night for a bed as of September 2009, while someone looking for a bit more luxury can choose a resort that includes full spa services and nightly entertainment.

Wows and Woes

The Native Indian culture has been incorporated into the design of the lodgings in Taos Valley, making for a very unique environment.
Taos Ski Valley's lodging is not as well known as other ski valleys and therefore has fewer restaurants and nightly entertainment.

Insider Tips

The Abominable Snowmountain offers affordable rates, while Don Fernando de Taos adds an element of luxury.

Bottom Line

Taos Ski Valley and its lodgings are a very organic and spiritual area to ski, and are a part of a world from another time.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

I decided to go skiing with a friend after two previous ski trips had me standing next to people who broke their legs. We headed out to the slopes, and sure enough, I again witnessed another broken leg and decided this sport is not for me. But the Hideaway Lounge at Don Fernandos had a free happy hour for me to recover at.
