Review of El Dorado Seaside Resort

Review of El Dorado Seaside Resort
The El Dorado Seaside Resort is an adults-only resort located in the Riviera Maya about one hour south of Cancun, Mexico. The resort is all-inclusive, so all of your food, drinks, and resort activities are included in your room rate. The resort has six restaurants and six bars serving premium liquors. The El Dorado Seaside also has a full-service fitness center with sauna and steam baths, two swimming pool, tennis courts, daily classes, nightly entertainment, a spa facility and a private beach club.

Wows and Woes

The El Dorado Seaside Resort is located in the gorgeous Kantenah Bay. This is the perfect tranquil location if you are looking to get away from it all. The resort is self-contained, and you can experience the perfect luxury vacation without ever leaving the resort. The El Dorado Seaside Resort is about a 30-minute drive north of the Mayan ruins of Tulum, which along with Cancun make perfect day trips. The resort is isolated. If you don't have a car, you will need to hire a car to explore outside the resort grounds.

Insider Tips

The resort offers guests full access to the nearby Hidden Beach Resort, which includes a clothing-optional nudist beach and club. Also, when ordering drinks from any of the resort bars, be sure to request premium-brand liquors by name. There is no additional charge for premium brands, but they are served only by request.

Bottom Line

The resort is expensive. Rooms start at $400 per night. The food is decent, but you will need to eat and drink a lot to justify the per-night cost.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

The location is truly stunning. My wife and I stayed at this resort for our fifth wedding anniversary and never left the resort facility. The staff paid meticulous attention to every detail, the suites are luxurious, and we really appreciated the adults-only atmosphere.
