Review of Pirateland Family Camping Resort in Myrtle Beach
Pirateland Family Camping Resort is located right on the oceanfront in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This campground has a lot of amenities to offer. It has a rec room where there are things like bingo and arts and crafts, as well as basketball courts, a heated indoor pool, an outdoor Olympic-size pool, Internet access, mini golf, paddle boat rentals and and arcade. It also has two- and three-bedroom vacation rentals if you want something a little larger for your trip. Recreational activities are regularly planned and include things like basketball and bocce ball.

Wows and Woes

Wows
For a campground, Pirateland Family Camping Resort has more amenities than you can handle on your vacation.

The planned recreational activities provide a great opportunity to get to know the other guests who are staying at the Pirateland Family Camping Resort.

Woes
When it is busy, the grounds can be littered with trash. It seems as if the staff is not big enough to handle the mess a full campground makes.

The bath houses seem a bit old and could stand to be updated. The roads to the campsites are very narrow, especially if you are pulling a camper.

Insider Tips

Each night there is a golf cart parade through the campground and campers decorate their rented golf carts. If you have kids with you, rent one of the golf carts to make getting around the large campground a bit easier. There are no showers on the beach to rinse the sand off. Instead, you have to walk back to the bath houses at the campground. The lot is patrolled at night to enforce quiet hours.

Bottom Line

If you want to camp as well as have access to lots of amenities and activities, then you cannot beat Pirateland Family Camping Resort.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

I was sitting outside of my camper drinking tea when a parade of decorated golf carts made its way past me with people of all ages driving the carts. Everyone in the parade seemed to be having fun and other campers came outside to watch the procession. I didn't know that they did this nightly, and it became the thing I looked forward to each day.
