Mirror Lake & Tom Dick Mountain Trail Reviews & Reports

Pros: Nice short hike entirely in the shade (surprisingly cool and damp in late October) until you reach Mirror Lake. All vertical but nicely switch-backed. Spectacular views of Mt. Hood reflected in the lake. Cons: Very busy even in the shoulder season. Lots of families and hounds. Many many many bags of dog poo along the trail and hanging in the trees just off trail.

This is a great hike. Not too difficult but definitely worth the minimal effort when you reach the ridge. The views of five peaks on clear days is breath-taking. Someone even built a stone recliner at the top for people to rest their weary souls and have a nice lunch with the chipmunks.
