Coulter Bay Village inside of Grand Teton National Park is one of the BEST PLACES to stay in the area. It is central to Yellowstone, GTNP and the town of Jackson. We stayed at Coulter Bay several years ago over Labor Day and it was just a magical vacation. We saw A LOT of wildlife - even had a brown bear go through camp! The weather was fantastic and there are more trails than there was time. The water is crystal clear. Earlier this year, I stayed with friends at a KOA campground 12 mi south of Jackson and it took forever to get to the Park. In the summer, you see more wildflowers and waterfalls, but less animals. I'll take the animals any day. Over all, Grand Teton National Park has been of the best places I have visited and a place I would go back to over and over again.
