The newer design is much more aerodynamic, and all the tools fit inside the locked casing for easy removal, yet safe. It is sturdy and holds my bike well.

Problem with fitting 2013 F150
I have a 2013 Ford F150 Crew Cab. I read reviews before buying this Thule Rack, and problems were called out siting an issue with the door hitting the bracket that clamps the foot to the door frame. I am writing this to confirm this is a fact. There is no way to adjust, bend, or install the clamp so this doesn't happen. The door hits the bracket before latching, so in order to get the door to latch, you have to flex the door around the bracket and force it closed

Easy But Not
So I bought the whole set this the bars & footing. The instructions were not the greatest in the world. I had to tinker with it to realize that the adjustments came down far enough to fit my car the right way. But once I figured that out and got it all set it sits very firm and tight. You can shake it and the only thing you are going to move is the car. I put a car top carrier on top of it and the brand I got sits up there nice. It was very expenceive but worth the money. If you are thinking about it getting this and this is your first roof rack system you are going to be in for a shook as far as price but like I said well worth it.
