Walter/Newton Natural Area Trail

Loop • 1.4 mi • 80 ft

Wetlands, a waterfall, and wildlife make this 163-acre sanctuary an ideal place to explore with children. What could be more fun for kids than traipsing over footbridges alongside a brook on their way to thirty-foot Rainbow Falls? Along the trail, they can also search for signs of wildlife in the bogs—beaver, deer, and even a moose or occasional black bear have been spotted in this natural area, deeded to the town of Plymouth by conservationists Ruth and Henry Walter and Suzanne Newton.

Easy hike, beautiful falls. Great winter hike, too.
