Buffalo Bayou Park Hike and Bike Trail - Houston Texas Hikes

This is an urban hike that offers some of the best views of downtown Houston. As you hike west, away from the parking lot, you can see the new Federal Reserve Bank building to the south and new townhomes on both sides of the bayou. Buffalo Bayou Park was originally created in 1929 to link downtown Houston with the suburban development of River Oaks, one of the more exclusive neighborhoods in Houston today. The 124-acre park includes Eleanor Tinsley Park, Police Officers Memorial, Glenwood Cemetery, Beth Yeshurun Cemetery, and the Sandy Reed Memorial Trail.
