Philadelphia

As the biggest city in the state and the "birthplace of liberty," Philadelphia offers many interesting attractions. It also has plenty of traffic; so much in face, that radio stations give traffic reports at midnight. Thus, this is more of a guide than a strictly planned ride. The best time to ride in Philadelphia is on a Sunday morning; next best is a Sunday afternoon. Fairmount Park is a great place to ride. It's green- you'll find raspberries and mulberries growing wild-and there are a lot of ducks and geese living here. If you stand on Kelly Drive and look across the river, you can almost imagine that you're in a wilderness. Trees and water are just about all that you can see. The road surface is good.
