Braddock Bay Raptor Research — Waterfowl Refuge Trail - Hilton New York Bird Watching Sites

Braddock Bay has excellent waterfowl hunting and fishing, including ice fishing in winter. Numerous creeks empty into the bay, with Salmon Creek being the biggest. Birding and fishing from a canoe or boat is a lot of fun. At times the outlet into Lake Ontario can get a bit rough, so it’s not recommended that anyone take a canoe into this area. Even with a larger boat, you may hit bottom or shear a prop if you don't navigate the channel properly. Birds Likely Seen: Buteo and accipiter hawks, eagles, owls, ducks, geese, turkey vultures, warblers, bluebirds, goldfinches and typical woodland birds.
