Pavilion Point

OutAndBack • 7.2 mi • 950 ft

The tour to Pavilion Point, south of Georgetown and Silver Plume, uses the old railroad bed of the Argentine Central Railroad that once continued up Leavenworth Gulch to Waldorf and beyond. Snow depth can be a problem here until late January. Because the route is an overgrown railroad bed, the grade is easy and the path usually wide enough for a small train. Some route finding is necessary as you ascend the side slopes of Leavenworth Mountain.
