Munising Cross-Country Ski Trail

You may never find a more picturesque place to ski than here along the lip of a natural sandstone rock face plunging into Lake Superior. All loops but one require intermediate ski experience at most, so practically anyone can come and enjoy the magnificent scenery that these cliffs shaped by wind, rain, ice, and time hold. The trails wind through a beautiful landscape of beech, maple, hemlock, spruce, and old fields on sandy uplands and hills of glacial moraines.. Surface quality: Six trails are groomed twice weekly, others regularly. Parts of three are open to two-way traffic. Trails are groomed for striding only.
