A village hike along a mile-long headland on the Atlantic Ocean. Marginal Way is probably the most popular village walk in Maine. The village of Ogunquit is a famous tourist town, full of curio shops and fine restaurants. The walk along Marginal Way is a fitting end to a day of shopping and eating. The ocean views here are unparalleled, and if you come here on a stormy day with an onshore wind, you can see the wrath of the open ocean as it batters the rocky shore. This setting would appeal to a filmmaker shooting a scary mystery. In fact, Marginal Way is a favored spot for artists, naturalists, and photographers. General location: The town of Ogunquit, about 12 miles north of the New Hampshire border, in York County.
