Fuller Ridge to San Jacinto Peak Trail - Pine Wood California Hikes

The trail is nicely wooded. At the wilderness boundary, signs say that a wilderness permit is needed to continue beyond 1.5 miles ahead. This is an excellent duff-covered trail, shady, secluded, with plenty of jaw-dropping views. All types of wildlife, including mule deer and squirrels, are common along the trail. Pass the aptly named spires of Castle Rocks as the trail gains and loses elevation. As it climbs, there are portions of hot, dry manzanita-and whitethorn-covered slopes, but towering trees remain a frequent sight and offer respite from the sun.
