Bainbridge Island: Gazzam Lake Park Wildlife Preserve Trail

OutAndBack • 5 mi • 0 ft

This diverse hike links three areas: Pleasant Beach, Gazzam Lake Park Wildlife Preserve, and Close Property Beach, creating several hiking opportunities. Together they provide a great introduction to the natural environment of Bainbridge, exploring two shorelines and the lowland forest at the island’s center. Bainbridge is only a short ferry ride away, beckoning to downtown Seattle from across the sound. Hordes of tourists make the trip during the warmer months, venturing to the island to enjoy the charms and attractions of the town of Winslow. On a summer’s evening the passage can be nothing short of spectacular, with amazing views of glittering skyscrapers and Mount Rainier during the golden hour before sunset.
