Vista Ridge - Cairn Basin - Eden Park Loop - Zigzag Oregon Trail Runs

This challenging loop trail climbs Vista Ridge on the remote northwest side of Mount Hood and then takes you through Wy’East Basin, Cairn Basin, and Eden Park. Way off the beaten track, this adventurous and challenging trail will take you through the spectacular wildflower meadows of Wy’East Basin, Cairn Basin, and Eden Park on the northwest ridge of Mount Hood. As you climb Vista Ridge, you’ll have brief but gorgeous views of Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams, and Mount Rainier. Additional challenges on this trail include two bridgeless crossings over rumbling Ladd Creek. This creek may be too treacherous to cross during high runoff periods.
