Hadley Peak - Glacier Washington Climbs

Located where Dobbs Cleaver joins the northern slope of Mount Baker, Hadley Peak is the high point of Chowder Ridge. The approach is over the Skyline Divide Trail, a superb stroll through emerald meadows. The convoluted glaciers of the north wall of Mount Baker accentuate the southern vista. The Border Peaks and the Cheam Range present rugged spires to the north. The openness and grandeur of the scene is exhilarating, as the scramble rolls up and down the ridge, approaching the summit. Indeed, Hadley Peak and the whole of Chowder Ridge provide high alpine scrambling at its best. But this is an area of sensitive and unique flora: Be careful to tread lightly and respect the fragile vegetation.
