Much like movies and restaurants, waterfalls can be evaluated and rated with stars for their scenic qualities. This four-star waterfall with a short and easy access trail has been a favorite with families for generations. The trail, through old-growth forest, is wide and level for 0.75 mile before crossing Barnes Creek and starting up the ridge alongside the falls. Children love walking its log bridge and climbing up alongside the waterfall. They run ahead to scout what comes next, then run back to report to parents.

What a great short little trail. Suitable for all family members as it is flat until you get to the falls overlook where you can climb up 300 feet to the top, but 150 feet will get you great views. Huge Powerful waterfall and nothing but beautiful green everywhere! Took us less than an hour to do the whole trail and then we warmed up by the fire at the lake crescent lodge. Another must see.
