The Marbles - Marble Rim - Fort Jones California Hikes

The hike ascends to the impressive cliffs of the Marble Mountains via serene Sky High lakes Basin, a long dayhike best done as an easy overnight trip. Despite the low elevation, snow lingers on the trail well into June and usually returns by the end of October. This is (deservedly) the most popular hike in the wilderness, but crowds will be light relative to other alpine regions of the state. Fishing is possible in the Sky High lakes. Water is available at the trailhead until late September and sources are plentiful along the hike.
