Was there Sunday ,14 May, 2017. The little bear fire of 121 changed things, and the area around the lookout is now surrounded by baby (2-4 foot) aspen trees. Glorious regrowth. The only trail immediate close, is been covered with dead trees and over growth, but the crest trail starts out just 1/4 mile down the mountain and is in great shape.

Wonderful Trail. Beware of the high altitudes as the trail starts over 9,000'. Beautiful scenery, especially when the Aspens turn gold in the fall. Breathtaking.
