Seven Sacred Pools Oheo Gulch - Hana Hawaii Hikes

Oheo Gulch, commonly known as “Seven Sacred Pools,” has a succession of natural staircase waterfalls cascading into a series of descending pools. The pools, numbering far more than seven, are bordered by sculpted lava rock basins and cliffs which lie along Oheo Gulch above the rugged eastern coastline at Kuloa Point. This short hike includes swimming holes and hikes around a series of freshwater pools that overlook the black lava rock oceanfront. Oheo Gulch is preserved as part of Haleakala National Park. The twisting, winding road from Hana to the pools weaves along the coastline through valleys and ridges. The scenic drive passes waterfalls and crosses numerous one-lane bridges.
