Bald Peak via the Mount Kinsman Trail

OutAndBack • 4.6 mi • 0 ft

This hike fits the description of “great views for relatively modest effort.” You follow an old logging road past some attractive cascades up to a bare knob on a spur of the Kinsman Range from which there is a wonderful 360-degree vista.

This very short hike around Falls pond is a nice place to stop and stretch your legs after driving around the White Mountains. With some slight uphills and views of the pond this trail is not too strenuous for anyone. Rocky Gorge is definitely a place to be checked out is you are in the area. Definitely watch small children near the edge of the cliffs, especially in the thaw season as the water is much more powerful then. But the way the water has carved the rocks is beautiful. If you decide to cross the bridge and walk around the pond just uphill it is more of a "workout" but not too strenuous.
