Mid State Trail - Blackwell Pennsylvania Hikes

This long-distance, north-to-south-trending hiking trail lays a loose sash across the middle of Pennsylvania. The Mid State Trail (MST) travels up Pine Creek Valley and rolls against the grain, passing up and over the serial arced ridges of the central state. While the MST is incomplete, this hike features some 168 adjoining miles. Special attractions: Fire towers and natural vistas, a section of the Great Island Indian Path, an abandoned railroad tunnel, mixed forest, mountain laurel, solitude, fall foliage.
