Naval Run - Black Forest Trail Loop - Jersey Shore Pennsylvania Hikes

This rolling loop excursion accesses a central portion of the extensive 42-mile Black Forest Trail (BFT), passing back and forth between scenic drainages and wooded ridges and visiting numerous manicured vistas. Start on Naval Run Trail for clockwise travel, concluding above Slate Run. The final 2 miles occur on road but overlook Pine Creek. Special attractions: Rich and varied forest, vistas, cascading runs and hollows, mountain laurel, wildlife sightings, fall foliage, a genuine sense of Pennsylvania “wilderness.”
