The best way to appreciate Ohio’s family farms is to work hard on one, breaking a sweat while working the soil. If you can’t do that, at least visit one for a day. The same family has tended the Beckwith Orchards in Kent since 1878. They welcome walkers, wannabe farmers, gardeners, and those who just love to eat farm-good food. Scenery: Hardy and lovingly tended apple, peach, and chestnut trees; children’s and community gardens, bluebirds, geese, and the occasional eagle.
