Starve Hollow State Recreation Area - Brownstown Indiana Hikes

This is a combination of three short trails, including a rugged section to ridgetop vistas. Starve Hollow State Recreation Area is part of Jackson-Washington State Forest, a 15,000-acre property noted for its “knobby” ridges. Two other Indiana Department of Natural Resources operations—Driftwood Fish Hatchery and Vallonia Nursery—are located in the valley below the high ridges of the Knobstone Escarpment. This hike features one of the knobs typical of this natural feature. Special Attractions: an interpretive nature trail and Starve Hollow vistas.
