Crooked Lake Nature Preserve - Columbia City Indiana Hikes

This is a double-loop trail through fields, along a bluff, and along the lakeshore. It is practically impossible to find a lake in northern Indiana that is not completely encircled by either summer cottages or year-round homes. This state-designated nature preserve protects about 3,500 feet of the north shoreline of Crooked Lake from such use. The spring-fed lake is one of the most pristine in Indiana, and one of the deepest at 105 feet. Special Attractions: The Phil M. McNagny Jr. Tall Trees Memorial Grove, the Leaman cemetery, and Crooked Lake.
