Mount Baldy Trail - Michigan City Indiana Hikes

This is a steep climb up a "living" sand dune to a scenic view of Lake Michigan. Special Attractions: Sunset on Lake Michigan with the Chicago skyline as a backdrop. Even though this is a short trail, it is not easy. Hiking in sand is almost a break-even proposition—for every stride taken, about half is lost sliding in the loose stuff. But the effort here is well worth it because of the spectacular view from Mount Baldy and the opportunity to witness a “living” dune in action.
