Matthews Creek Trail - Caesars Head South Carolina Hikes

The hike to Matthews Creek is one of three featured hikes in the 10,000acre Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, which includes 7467 acres of Caesars Head State Park and Jones Gap State Park. This loop hike in Caesars Head State Park can be done in either direction, but a counterclockwise hike is profiled here. The path heads west through a forest of hardwoods, where there is very little elevation change over the first few miles.
