Raven Cliffs Trail

OutAndBack • 5 mi • 0 ft

This trail in the Raven Cliffs Wilderness Area is one of the more popular hikes in the Georgia mountains. If you want a solitary experience, it is best to walk it during the week or in winter. On weekends from spring through fall, it gets moderately heavy

Just to be clear, from the official trail head, this is not 10 miles as others have stated. It does not start at a State Park. The round trip from the well marked parking lot is about 5 miles. Because of its proximity to Helen and Atlanta, and because it is very pretty, accessible, and moderate, it is heavily used and very busy with people and dogs during peak season weekends. The falls are stunning, but if possible go during the week. https://www.tripleblaze.com/hiking-trails/Georgia/Raven-Cliff-Falls_1009v

We went from the campground to the falls and back, 9.6 miles. Decent moderate hike, good exercise. I prefer rocky trails with good vistas, and this falls short in that regard, though the falls are very nice. Encountered one lone hiker the entire time.
