Raven Rock Trail - Morgantown West Virginia Hikes

This trail descends gradually to a rock escarpment overlooking the Cheat River. The masterpiece of Coopers Rock State Forest is the Cheat River Canyon and the spectacular rock bluffs located high above the river. Rock climbing and mountain biking are other favorite activities allowed in the forest. The best time to hike this trail is late September to early October when the fall colors are at their peak. The host of colors on the opposite escarpment at the end of the trail is truly a sight to behold. Special attractions: A great rock outcrop overlooking the Cheat River.
