Hosmer Lake is a special place. Lying at nearly 5000 feet near the Cascades Lake Highway west of Bend, Hosmer Lake has it all: clear water, narrow channels, open water, acres of lily pads and rushes, a contorted shape, outcrops of volcanic rock, abundant wildlife, huge fish visible from your boat, and grand mountain views.

Beautiful flatwater lake with lots of water fowl and super clear water. We could see large rainbow trout swimming by. This is a popular kayak destination so the parking lot was busy, but manageable. Once out on the lake it was quiet and peaceful. Would recommend for most beginners.
