Petes Mountain–Canby Ferry Cruise

Loop • 42.7 mi • 0 ft

This challenging route explores the steep rolling hills of Clackamas County and promises a great workout and extraordinary views of Mount Hood and other Cascade peaks. The ride starts at Willamette Park in the historic community of Willamette, which features many fun shops. After a tough ride up Petes Mountain, you’ll cruise downhill to the Canby Ferry—one of the few remaining ferries in Oregon. After crossing the mighty Willamette, you’ll pedal on a mostly flat route past Molalla River State Park and through the shimmering green farming country surrounding Canby. You’ll complete the final loop of the ride by exploring the hilly countryside of West Linn through a rural area filled with hobby farms and country estates.

Fun trail, wonderful scenery when in the hills. Hard in the beginning but soon levels out. Interesting ride on the ferry.

Very little traffic, lots of climbing and rollers. This little loop can be ridden as much or little as desired. Roughly 7.5 miles in length. Approx. 23-30 minutes around depending on your strength. Getting there or back: Free ride across the Canby Ferry if you're heading over the river from the South. Otherwise 15 minutes ride from Wilsonville or climb up the Col de Linn (1.5 mile climb out of West Linn @ 8-12% pitch).
